Konstantinos A. Kounadis is the CEO and President of Monte Nero as well as its founder. Mr. Kounadis has over 18 years of financial industry experience. Mr. Kounadis’ attributes and skills include business development, project management and implementation with solid knowledge of the capital markets and its implications for CEEMEA markets.
Since 1999, Mr. Kounadis served in senior management roles at the Athens Exchange where he was responsible for the Exchange’s market data business and then as Deputy Director of Marketing, where he was responsible for listing companies as well as creating new business models in the main and alternative markets of ATHEX, ETF’s and the shipping industry.
He was instrumental in the development of the GREKFTSE ATHEX 20 Index which provides investors with a comprehensive and transparent way to measure the performance of the securities trading on the Athens Exchange.
As Deputy Director, his duties also included liaison among all the participants in the IPO process including the issuers, investment banks, top institutional funds, etc., as well as the service providers to the issuers such as the legal and accounting firms.
In his previous role, as Head of Licensing Information products and services, Konstantinos led the audit/compliance policies and licensing business resulting in material positive changes to the organization and revenues in a euro 5m+ business. He was also responsible for the commercialization of information products and for the identification of commercial opportunities relating to ATHEX indices.
The market data business, grew from 5% of the Exchange’s revenues to 25% under Mr. Kounadis’ leadership. Prior to joining the Athens Exchange, Konstantinos was with Citibank S.A in New York where he specialized in money transfer issues.

Konstantinos has studied in the Department of Economics at the University of Athens and continued his studies by acquiring an MBA from St. John's University in New York, specializing in International Finance.
